About Me
My name is Christopher Kurdoghlian and I am currently studying at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP). I am an Electrical Engineering major and a Computer Science minor. I am interested in the future of technology, education, and how it relates to the future of human civilization, government, and urban planning. Thus, I find myself interested in the technologies that will make a real impact on the thriving of all people and democracies, and understanding the unique nuances that our rapidly evolving technologies will bring to society.
Ultimately I hope that with proper and innovative educational initiatives and technological breakthroughs, we, as a collective civilization - including our youngest students, can look into the future with optimism and true belief that we do indeed have the ability to make a positive and meaningful impact on humanity and the Earth.
Steve Jobs once said, “Life can be so much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is that everything around you that you call ‘life’ was made up by people who were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.”
In JFK's "We go to the moon" speech: "We set sail on this new sea because there is new knowledge to be gained, and new rights to be won, and they must be won and used for the progress of all people. For space science, like nuclear science and all technology, has no conscience of its own. Whether it will become a force for good or ill depends on man... I do not say that we should or will go unprotected against the hostile misuse of space any more than we go unprotected against the hostile use of land or sea, but I do say that space can be explored and mastered without feeding the fires of war, without repeating the mistakes that man has made in extending his writ around this globe of ours."
Some notable individuals and writers that inspired my interests include Derek Muller from Veritasium, Jonathan Haidt, Mark Manson, Ryan Holiday, Robert Green, Cal Newport, and one of our founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin. Our founding fathers are quite inspiring to me, as they demonstrated the viability and success of being a "Renaissance man", as they excelled in many disciplines including science, battle strategy, farming, government, and literature.
